NEW EVENING BUS SERVICE FOR £2 RETURN
Stratford District Council and the County Council have teamed up to provide residents of Alderminster with the opportunity to travel anywhere in Warwickshire for just £2 return on journeys after 1800 on Mondays to Saturdays. The scheme started on 6 April 2010. For example at present the adult return fare from Alderminster to Stratford is £4.85. Even the adult single fare is £3.05 so you can see what a bargain it is. RULES AT LOCAL RECYCLING PLANTS
Local residents may be interested to hear that Warwickshire County Council has recently revised its vehicle restriction policy at the county's nine Household Waste Recycling Centres.
Key changes include limited access for twin cab pick ups + some ‘modified’ large vehicles (previously prohibited) plus a simplified permit application process for householders whose only vehicle is a small van, pick up or large 4x4.
The new policy came into force on 30 March 2009.

MOBILE LIBRARY ARRANGEMENTS 2009
The Mobile library will visit Alderminster (in the Old Road) at 10.10am on the following dates:

Attached below is a message from the Ambulance Service which provides information of an extremely useful idea.
In Case of Emergency
We all carry our mobile phones with names & numbers stored in its memory. If we were to be involved in an accident or were taken ill, the people attending us would have our mobile phone but wouldn't know who to call. Yes, there are hundreds of numbers stored but which one is the contact person in case of an emergency? Hence this 'ICE' (In Case of Emergency) Campaign.
The concept of 'ICE' is catching on quickly. It is a method of contact during emergency situations. As mobile phones are carried by the
majority of the population, all you need to do is store the number of a contact person or persons who should be contacted during emergency under the name 'ICE' ( In Case Of Emergency).. The idea was thought up by a paramedic who found that when he went to the scenes of accidents there were always mobile phones with patients but they didn't know which number to call.
He therefore thought that it would be a good idea if there was a nationally recognised name for this purpose.
In an emergency situation, Emergency Service personnel and hospital Staff would be able to quickly contact the right person by simply dialing the number you have stored as 'ICE'. It really could save your life, or put a loved one's mind at rest.
For more than one contact name simply enter ICE1, ICE2 and ICE3 etc

Have you heard about Community Forums?
The Community Forums are an advisory body, which act as a key vehicle for community engagement within the locality. Members of the public can raise issues of concern and wherever possible, together with relevant agencies, solutions to those concerns can be worked out. The date and venue for the next forum meeting in your area will be published on this site in due course.
If you have a specific concern or problem, then come along to the local surgery from 6 pm - 7 pm where you will be able to speak to your local Safer Neighbourhoods Policing Team, Warwickshire County Council or Stratford-on-Avon District Council Officer.

THE STOUR BRIDGE PROJECT UPDATE
The bridge is usable but please do not wander off the line of the footpath at either side of the bridge. Waymarkers are in place to show the line of the path. Basically if leaving the bridge at the Wimpstone side you need to bear right at an angle of 45% towards the kissing gate and if leaving on the Alderminster side you need to bear right at an angle of 45% towards the small concrete bridge at the side of the house (no.1 Alderminster)
