About Alderminster

Located on the A3400, the picturesque village of Alderminster is at the gateway to The Cotswolds.  It is midway between Stratford-upon-Avon and Shipston-on-Stour.

During the 1870s a local landowner built 24 houses in Alderminster. He also built the school and a schoolhouse and these were in use until 1971.

In 1960 the village had grown to about 100 houses.  These – together with a garage, post office/store, bakery and The Bell Inn – extended along the main road.

An ex-army hut was used as a village hall and was replaced by a new hall in 1962.

Today there are over 240 houses in the village and The Bell Inn is a multi award winning modern day country pub, restaurant and B&B.

The village has retained its rural character and successfully blends the old with the new.
